This US satellite photo shows the outline
of the pavement and the courses used in 1995. Both have changed since this
photo was taken in 1995, but the courses used today are quite similar to
the one shown here. The squares are a painted grid that marked where helicopters
were tied down (there are 300 tiedown areas on this location and this was
not the largest such field at Ft Wolters). The squares are smooth and can
be driven over with no effect. The
underlying picture was obtained from Microsoft's TerraServer at http://www.terraserver.com.
There are 3 course variations used today. They are all similar, but each has it's own character. Note that Course 3 is run CCW, whereas the other two courses are run CW. Course 3 is identical to Course 1, except for the chicane near work station 4.
